UK link programme for Xoserve

Xoserve had been in the process of delivering the UK Link programme for some time and had been experiencing challenges with certain elements of technical delivery.
It required an experienced programme partner to help deliver this complex SAP-centric programme, under close scrutiny from Ofgem and the UK industry, which involved multiple partners with a combination of onshore and offshore delivery..
What we did
The programme involved delivering a suite of highly integrated IT solutions, based on a core of SAP applications, and was highly visible within the UK gas industry due to the central role of Xoserve as a participant in the industry processes and the key nature of the solutions in ensuring the smooth running of the UK competitive gas market.
The main objectives of the programme were to:

Provide a stable, modern, responsive and flexible application suite to support the UK competitive gas market

Introduce more flexibility to enable ongoing system enhancements in a controlled and effective manner

Provide improved reporting capabilities to the industry

Provide the gas market with the ability to the utilize information from smart meters for the benefit of customer
Outcomes
Technical delivery activities were successfully stabilised and recovered to enable the programme to go live on time. The SaaS reporting work stream was successfully delivered on time.
We helped establish effective relationships between the various parties that was key in ensuring future industry engagement was on the right footing. We supported Xserve by establishing business readiness assessment processes and criteria including a fully operational Command Centre capability to manage high risk activities during cutover and post go live support.
The post go live support function was established within a six week period to ensure successful go live of the full programme.
