DNASTREAM at the IFS User Group: Key Takeaways from an Adventure-Filled Event

ree

Earlier this week, the DNASTREAM team attended the UK&I IFS User Group event in Bedford, where the theme was fittingly "Adventure." The day was packed with insights, practical advice, and dynamic conversations - truly living up to the spirit of discovery and forward movement.

Embracing AI: Moving From Theory to Practice

A clear message from IFS was that organisations need to embrace AI or risk being left behind. IFS demonstrated how the journey from AI theory to practice is accelerating, with genuine, useful use cases and a transparent look into their development process. It’s evident that AI is quickly becoming a core differentiator, not just a buzzword.

Cloud Upgrades: Essential for Progress

Upgrading to the Cloud is no longer optional if you want to benefit from the latest IFS features. The roadmap for IFS Cloud is compelling, with a strong push towards AI-assisted workflows, improved user experience, and a smoother, less disruptive upgrade cadence. For DNASTREAM and our customers, this brings confidence in planning migrations with minimal downtime and maximum value.

The Value of Partners

One recurring theme was the power of partnerships. Working with experienced partners enables organisations to move faster and tap into expertise that may not exist in-house. The event reinforced the collaborative energy required to get the most from IFS, and we were proud to be there with our newest partner, Kaizens, discussing the exciting capabilities Kaibridge tools offer, particularly with regards to automated testing and migration.

Change Management & Making Evergreen Deliver

From our perspective, two themes came up repeatedly:

  • How to energise project teams and stakeholders, without blowing the budget.

  • How to accelerate testing cycles, enabling IFS evergreen delivery to truly live up to its promise of ongoing efficiencies.

We were excited to showcase the solutions we've found in these areas, thanks in part to new tools and methodologies available through our partners.

Real Results: Customer Success Stories

DNASTREAM’s Ben Callow and Jacques Beaupierre hosted a talk alongside Sajee Dewasurendra, Technical Consultant at MGroup, diving into how we delivered a successful transformation project, with an emphasis on practical approaches to stakeholder engagement and sustainable change.

Throughout the event we also heard from a range of customer case studies, particularly within manufacturing and asset-intensive sectors. These stories highlighted tangible benefits - shorter maintenance cycles and faster service responses - that align closely with how we aim to deliver value on every DNASTREAM project.

Community Energy and Innovation

We loved the energy in the room. Hands-on demos and lively conversations with IFS and other partners sparked plenty of practical ideas, especially around EAM/FSM, planning & scheduling, and integrations that we’re eager to bring to our own future engagements.

The IFS User Group event was, in every sense, an adventure - fuelled by a sense of collaboration and momentum that we’re excited to carry forward.
